4. Birlingham Photography Club, Tuesday 4th June

Angela Fitch writes:
The next meeting of Birlingham Photography Club is on Tuesday 4th June, 7.00pm – 8.30pm, in Birlingham Village Hall.

Street photography by Olivia Swinscoe. Street images are right at the cutting edge of today’s ever-spiralling world of photography. Every expression says something, every backdrop provides context and every picture tells its own story. Voyeurism or art? That is the question. What can a photographer photograph and what is off limits?

Olivia Swinscoe is an accomplished street photographer and she makes her first visit to BPC on Tuesday 4th June where she will invite us into her world, discussing images from her collection whilst she reveals the art that is discovering photography on the street.

Birlingham Photography Club is open to anyone interested in photography. Whether you have the latest kit or prefer the convenience of your mobile phone, there is something for you. £4pp to include light refreshments, over 18s to be accompanied. More information is available at www.birlinghamphotography.co.uk or email birlinghamphoto@btinternet.com.

5. Cuppa & Chat, Wednesday 5th June

The next Cuppa & Chat takes place on Wednesday 5th June, from 3.00pm to 4.30pm. Come and enjoy tea, coffee and cake in Birlingham Village Hall – an opportunity to meet friends, dissect the results of the European elections and discuss their effect on the Brexit process.

All are welcome, especially families new to the village. Cost is £2 per head and it is always held on the first Wednesday of the month. For more information please contact Adrianne Woodward on 01386 750936.

6. Missing Cat

Daisy, a white/tortoiseshell cat, has been missing from Lower End since 9.00am on Saturday 25th May. She is almost all white with tortoiseshell markings on her head/face and tail only. If she still has it, she has a black collar with a black round GPS tag on (that obviously isn’t working).

Daisy is adventurous and is quite possibly stuck in an outbuilding. Please check around your property. She responds to her name. There is a photograph of her on the village Noticeboard (www.birlingham.org/noticeboard).

If you find her, please call Abbey on 07502 432977.
