2. Birlingham Photography Club, Tuesday 6th March

Angela Fitch writes:
The next meeting of Birlingham Photography Club is on Tuesday 6th March, 7.00pm – 8.30pm in Birlingham Village Hall.

Photo critique evening. Local photographer, Paul Lloyd, will lead an evening of constructive comment on selected works. BPC members are invited to submit an image and Paul will advise on the tricks of the trade which turn a good photo into something spectacular. Paul says: ‘Sometimes you just need to take a step to the left or maybe go low to capture that big bold foreground; the camera doesn’t always see what you see.’ Paul’s comments will be 100 per cent constructive, so don’t be scared, step right up and improve your photography in a flash!

Everyone is welcome, under 18s to be accompanied by an adult. £3pp which includes tea/coffee and biscuits. More information is available at www.birlinghamphotography.co.uk.

3. Thanksgiving Service for John Hill, Wednesday 7th March

The Thanksgiving Service for John Hill will take place at St James’ Church on Wednesday 7th March at 2.00pm (following a family service in Worcester). All are welcome to the service in Birlingham.

The cricket ground will be open for overflow car parking.

4. March Hare Charity Quiz, Saturday 10th March

There will be a March Hare Charity Quiz on Saturday 10th March in Birlingham Village Hall, 7.15pm for 7.30pm. Teams should be 4-6 people but those who would like to take part but are not in a team are also very welcome – a team can be found for you!

The quiz is being held to raise money for blind and partially sighted children in a special unit attached to Mtandi Primary school, southern Tanzania. The children in the unit lead very impoverished lives and the resources of the school are minimal. Specialist equipment is practically non-existent.

The cost is £8pp to include a Fish & Chip Supper (gluten free/vegetarian option available). There will be a bar and raffle. Tickets are available from Steve Arbery, Tel: 01386 750877.

This month’s Cuppa & Chat takes place a week later than usual on Wednesday 14th March, from 3.00pm to 4.30pm. Come and enjoy tea, coffee and cake in Birlingham Village Hall – an opportunity to meet friends and catch up with the latest news.
