Superfast Broadband is arriving in the village in
the next couple of weeks, so we can all stop grumbling about download
speeds!

A new superfast broadband cabinet is currently
being installed opposite the war memorial. This is expected to be connected to
the main Eckington exchange in the next couple of weeks. More information is

For BT lines, you can test your current speeds at
http://diagnostics.bt.com/login/?workflow=Speed.
If you do this test we would like to know the results you get, so that we can
compare them when the new service becomes active. Please email us at news@birlingham.org with the upload and
download times, and the date and time at which the test was done.

West Mercia Police are warning of a crime in which
people are telephoned by someone claiming to be from the Metropolitan Police and
asking for bank details. Information on this crime is available at www.birlingham.org/docs/wmp.pdf.
Anyone receiving suspicious calls should contact
the police by phoning 101.
