This month sees plenty of new opportunities in the
village – details below.

Classes offering a new type of fitness training will begin in Birlingham
Village Hall next week. From Monday 3rd February, there will be 60-minute ‘Body
Sculpt’ classes at 6.30pm, and from Friday 7th February, ‘Flex-ability’ classes
will be held at 9.45am. Further information about Body Sculpt can be found at

Teas for people visiting the bulbs in the churchyard will be served in
Birlingham Village Hall on Saturdays and Sundays between 11.00am and 4.00pm,
starting this weekend and continuing until Sunday 2nd March. On weekdays, teas
will be served at the Old Rectory.
The Bulb Sunday Service will be held at St James's Church on Sunday 23rd
February at 3.00pm. During the service there will be a presentation on 'Church
and Village during the 20th Century', consisting of a number of personal
reminiscences. Afterwards, teas will be served in the Village Hall.

Following the resignation of Tony Hall, there is
now a vacancy on Birlingham Parish Council. When a vacancy occurs, it must be
advertised for a period of 14 days, during which electors can ask for an
election to be held. If at least ten electors do not request an election, the
Parish Council can co-opt a new member.
If no election has been requested for the current
vacancy, the Council will co-opt a new member at their next meeting on Wednesday
19th March. If you would like more information on
the Parish Council and its role, and how you can apply to become a councillor,
please email the Clerk at birlingham_clerk@yahoo.co.uk.
