Despite the weather, a wonderful weekend of events
was enjoyed by over 200 people. The Duck Race on Berwick Brook and
Coronation Quiz at the Swan Inn on Saturday were followed by a day of
events on Sunday. The All Faiths Service in St James's Church preceded the
Trolley Race and the Big Lunch (including village photo and tug o'
war), and finally a sold-out Music Evening in the Village Hall. On
Monday, the Swan Inn were again hosts for the live showing of the concert at
Buckingham Palace.
Full reports and photographs of all these events
will be available on the website soon.
-------------------------------------------------------
There will be a cricket match this Friday between a
team of Birlingham Villagers and Smiths Angling Club. The match is at Birlingham
Cricket Ground, starting at 6.30pm. The format is 20/20 (each team has 20
overs). There will be a barbecue and the bar will be open. All
welcome!
